On 11th July 2025, our learners had the honour of presenting their Robotics project during the CAPSHA workshop for Directors and Principals of Catholic Sponsored Schools in the Catholic Diocese of Homa Bay. The workshop was held under the auspices of CAPSHA-Homabay (Catholic Private Schools Heads Association) and focused on enhancing educational standards in line with the Competency Based Education (CBE).
The learners confidently showcased their skills in robotics programming and automation, demonstrating their understanding of technology integration and problem-solving – critical aspects of the STEM pathway under CBE. Their presentation highlighted La Salle School’s commitment to preparing learners for the ever-evolving technological world.
The event’s keynote address was delivered by Prof. Charles Ong’ondo, Director and CEO of Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), who emphasised the need for schools to embrace CBE pathways such as STEM to equip learners with 21st-century skills.
In attendance was Rt. Rev. Bishop Michael Odiwa, Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Homa Bay, who commended the learners and teachers for embracing innovation and practical learning. He urged schools to continue nurturing learners holistically in academics, faith, and life skills to prepare them for future societal roles.
At La Salle School, we believe that exposing learners to Robotics and STEM at an early stage builds their creativity, critical thinking, and adaptability in the rapidly changing global environment. Our focus remains to ensure every learner discovers and develops their talents and competencies for personal success and service to society.
We thank the CAPSHA leadership for providing this platform for our learners and reaffirm our commitment to quality, innovative, and value-based education.
